[Sitting in bed with the blanket sheet over her, Pyro is holding two large wads of it in her palms as she looks up at the ceiling. It's hard to think how she is supposed to go about admitting previous relationships, especially when that relationship wasn't exactly of a sexual nature despite them being ~together~ it seemed.]

Alan. I don't want you to be mad at me, but I had a boyfriend before, I think.

[He nudged the door closed with the crutch, making his way to the bedside. He remained standing, his brow furrowing.]

Why would I be mad about that? You know I had a girl before you.

Wouldn't you be angry if it was someone you know?

I'd be concerned if it turned out it was Spy or something, but frankly, I was under the impression you and Engineer were courting. Or had been at some time.

[Which made it all the more difficult for him when he couldn't win a battle for her affections with a guy who wasn't even there anymore.]

No, not Spy. But...yes, and--well... what if Sensei kissed me?

It's not like I've not been kissed before you. And he did seem pretty enamoured with you, from the one conversation I had with him. For a while, I thought that might just be how you showed affection.

[His brow furrowed further. While he was understanding of this, given she was mostly just confirming his suspicions, he still had his doubts of what she thought of him.]

Look, pumpkin. I don't care who ya've been with before or who they were or what you did. All that matters to me is... well, you're my girl now, aren't you?

Sensei always seemed to dislike me so I don't understand his actions. His favorite things to tell me where how fat and stupid I am.

[Scratching her cheek at his wording, she began to flush at the thought of how Sniper viewed her compared to someone like Medic.]

[A look of relief crossed him instantly. There was still tension in his posture, a lingering fear of the possibilities in his mind, but her reassurance was more of a comfort than he could express.

Setting his crutches aside, he slid onto the bed next to her, setting a hand atop one of hers.]

Right, you are. But I think Doc should've had his eyes checked- ya aren't fat or stupid. You speak two languages, know how to cook. Got more education than I do.

I'm not sure about that. I only graduated from high school.

[As for those other two abilities; Sniper didn't have to learn another language because it wasn't required for where he lived. As for cooking, well... she did have to admit she made good food.]

It's because Engie taught me how to make delicious food!

[Squeezing his hand, she looked away in embarrassment. Compliments were strange.]

I didn't even make it that far. Was pulled out to work on the farm. I know a lot about sheep, hunting, and doin' my job, but not much else, I s'ppose.

[He returned the squeeze of her hand, his eyes locking themselves on his fingers wrapped around hers.]

I'm not Truckie. Never gonna be him, but I, um. [He paused, the words getting harder to say.] I want to mean that much to you, pumpkin. Someday.

[Leaning her head against his shouder, she started to nuzzle against him affectionately.]

[He squeezed her hand again, the attention she gave him reassuring him, putting to rest some of his unspoken fears. He could only put up a stoic front for so long- sometimes, he just needed a sign he hadn't ruined everything yet, needed help battling the doubts that plagued him in unfamiliar situations. He knew he had to adapt, but it wasn't always easy.

He placed a kiss atop her head, rubbing his face in her hair and taking in its texture and scent.]

I love you too, Momo.

[It was still strange to find himself admitting something like that to anyone, even just to her; however, that was definitely the name for it. The undeniable urge to be with her, the way his world fell apart without her there, the fact that it was harder and harder to picture ever going back to the way things were at Sawmill, with her in the mask and the two of them uninvolved... He wanted her in every way, and was driven to have her feel the same way about him.

No, he never was going to be Engineer. He was going to be better- a better teammate, a better lover. Maybe even a better man, at times.]

Hey. Let's do something nice tonight.

[With the kiss placed atop her forehead, Momo did her best to keep cool and laugh shyly. Normally, she woul feel the need to hide her face and whimper.

If Sniper tried to be Engineer she doubted she would feel the same for him. He was fine just the way he was.]

Do something!? What do you want to do?

[Pressing her forehead against his, she nuzzled up against him some more as she waited for a response.]

[He returned her affection, keeping his forehead pressed against her own, reveling in the warmth she sent through him through the contact.]

I thought maybe we could go look at the stars. Just the two of us. We'd probably have to get outside the city walls where it's darker. Take a blanket, that sort of thing. We could start a fire if ya get too cold.

But I already have something beautiful in front of me right now.

[Look how sweet she was being.]

[He felt his face redden, her reply one he hadn't expected. Even if 'beautiful' had been a term he'd have applied to himself (and it wasn't, as 'handsome' hadn't been, either), he wasn't terribly used to compliments, himself.]

I thought it'd be like a, er. You know. Um. A proper date.

[The moment he started to blush, Pyro let out a little squee.]

A proper date, hm? Does that mean you'll be dressing up?

[Now that would be interesting.]

I suppose I could, though I've not got much else to wear besides the jumpers. And that one white shirt.

There's something else you have, you just don't know about it.

[Pointing to her closet, she nodded her head in that direction.]

Go look in there.

[Inside there would be a nice black suit and tie hanging on the rack.]

[He pulled away from her, giving her a confused look before complying. Hobbling to the closet, he opened the door and was surprised by what was hanging in there. It looked to be about his size, too- right down to the long legs of the pants.

He pulled the hanger from the rack, holding the suit before him.]

I don't think I've ever worn anything this nice, honestly.

Put it on! I bet you'll look great in it!

[Getting up from the bed, Pyro stood at his side smiling and waiting innocently for him to get undressed as if there was nothing wrong with it.]

Alright, alright.

[He waited a moment for her to turn around before finally doing so himself, realizing she was waiting. Though she'd seen him nude before— several times, if he reminded himself that she'd seen him in the showers at Sawmill— there was still something awkward about the undressing part of it all, some minute amount of shame still clawing at him from the back of his mind.

Hanging the suit on the rack again, he pulled off his shirt and pants, tossing them in a heap on the floor. He slid into the dress pants easily enough, their long length a near perfect match for his legs. The shirt wasn't as easy- it came off the hanger quick enough, but once he got his arms into the sleeves, he fumbled with the buttons.

He left the tie on the hanger, slipping into the jacket before turning around.]

How's that look?

[For his sake, she placed her hands over her eyes until she got the signal that it was ok to look. When she unshielded her eyes, her jaw practically dropped as she ogled him for a long moment.]

Amazing, Alan! You look really sexy! Are you sure you don't have a million girlfriends you haven't told me about?

[His face burned as he rubbed the back of his neck, trying to hide his deepening shade. Even Barbara had never called him that.]

I feel overdressed.

[Whispering in his ear, a light girlish chuckle came from her.]

We can get you underdressed later.
