"I don't blame you. Spy's accent is rather strong. I have better luck in part to growing up hearing the language around me." Holding the can in both of her hands, she smiled down at it thoughtfully. "After the war... I saw Americans around quite a bit, my parents said they were scary and I shouldn't get near them but they were always kind and patting my head. Sometimes, they even gave me some sweets. So... I don't think I could hate Americans. I don't want to hate Westerners in general or someone based on the color of their skin. That is not a choice a person is given when they are born so I don't understand the hate. I wasn't really even born until the very end of the war... and yet going into town I do hear some rather unpleasant things said underneath people's breath in part to me being Japanese."
