Sensei is gone. There was a stuffed panda in his lab waiting for me.

I can't find him anywhere. I've looked everywhere I can possibly think of. I don't know where he could of wondered off to.

By chance, did he come over to your house BLU? That's the last place left I can think of. I've exhausted all my other options, I don't want to think that he left me too.

[It was then Sniper started to look uncomfortable himself- well, more so than since she'd straddled him, anyway. A part of him tried to convince himself it was just something with her and the way she showed affection. After all, she had the mind of a child.

But under that facade was a damaged woman, hiding years of hurt behind a mask. It wasn't all that different from his own method of dealing with his problems, when he thought about it, which was exactly what he didn't want to do. He didn't need any reason to believe actually attempting some kind of camaraderie— friendship, even— with her was a good idea, because it wasn't. He had lost all desire for companionship of any kind long ago, whether it was from people or pets or even his parents. He didn't need anyone.

And perhaps that was why her statement made him so uncomfortable. She had been looking into adult literature for Engineer, and Medic had made how he felt about her clear. How had she felt about the doctor? Or him, for that matter?

He kept his eyes off her, feigning ignorance.]

It's probably nothing to worry about. I thought you liked bein' hot, anyway.

It's not so bad, I just wish... I knew why I felt this way. No one else would ever explain it to me and said there was nothing wrong with how I felt. Somehow, I get the feeling they were lying to me...

[Tilting her head, she looked down at his face with a frown.]

Are you going to lie to me too?

[He held his flat expression in spite of her eyes on him.]

Seein' how you've got the upper hand here, I see no reason I should unless I'm lookin' to get into trouble.

[His flat expression just made her all the more curious. Was he capable of being a little more expressive? Bringing her forehead against his own, she closed her eyes.]

So... if I let you go, you really won't do anything bad anymore?

[The heat from her face radiated against him as she brought her forehead to hers, the sensation hiding the feeling of his own shade turning crimson. He inhaled deeply, getting a grip on himself as she invaded his personal space- she permeated it even more with his breath, his senses focusing on her particular scent of cigarettes and the flowery shampoo from the shower.]

I'll certainly try, if that's what ya want.

Alright, then I'll let you go free.

[Getting off the top of him, Pyro broke the tension between the two of them. Sitting up on the bed, Pyro took her knit cap off the top of her head and let her hair drop down. Apparently, Pyro hadn't burnt all the damn strands off since her hair was now longer then ever and touching her shoulders. In time, that would most likely be fixed. For now, it did make her look more feminine though.]

[Sniper let out a sigh, pushing himself upright and rubbing his wrists. She certainly had a grip to write home about. He shot her a sideways look before busying himself with his broken arm, readjusting the sling that held his cast. He decided then was as good as any time to ask about shifting the sleeping situation.]

His wasn't the only other bedroom in this building, was it? Because I'm not moving into any bed Medic slept in.

There are others but I'd prefer you just stay here with me. If I don't keep my eye on you, Sniper might get in trouble again and end up hurt even more.

[Poking his cheek lightly with her fingertip, she nodded her head back and forth teasingly as she called out in a sing-song voice.]

Besides, Jell-O might worry where you've gone off to and end up searching for you. He can get pretty exited during hide-n-seek games~

[Sniper raised an eyebrow in minor irritation, fairly certain it didn't matter where he slept- Jell-O would find new ways to invade his personal space.]

I don't see how I can get into too much trouble here, whether you're keepin' an eye on me or not.

You might fall down the stairs and break open your head trying to leave here. I'd have to clean up all the brain matter if that happened and wait on a faulty respawn system.

[Sudden mood change is go. Clearly, there are two personalities at play here. Whenever she becomes serious the childlike mentality changes and the pitch in her voice drastically turns into something more mature.]

You must take me for an idiot to think I'd let you be down on the first floor unattended. I know quite well what you'd try to do and it involves going out the door and going back to your little townhouse.

[As surprised as he was by her mood change, his own expression instead turned to one of irritation as she saw right through him.]

There's nothin' wrong with my house. I get that ya want to keep an eye on me, but I can take care of myself. I'm not just gonna up and disappear.

[Grabbing him by the collar of his hoodie, she begins to shake him.]

Can you stop being an insensitive bastard for just a few moments? The reason I keep you here is so you don't cause anymore trouble. Trouble for someone else means trouble for you, too. Clearly, it hasn't gotten through that thick skull of yours that getting hurt or killed here means facing the consequences. This isn't back home! Look at yourself, don't you get it? How much more pain must you experience before you will understand?

[Sniper could only look into her eyes for a moment before averting his own, shame marking him. He recalled what she'd said about Medic- the man had killed himself and lost his memories of her in the respawn. Perhaps she feared the same would happen to him, should he die. His inclination to be stubborn and insist again that he could take care of himself— because as far as he was concerned, he could, and if she thought he'd die so easily like the Doc, she was wrong— clashed with both his manners and his desire to not be pummeled.

At the same time, he couldn't deny he knew how she felt. She'd lost one teammate shortly after he arrived; Medic had disappeared only days ago. He could understand she was afraid of losing the only one she had left. She had said she didn't want to be alone.

He made a quiet noise. Loss- it was a common enemy for them.]

Sorry, pumpkin. I guess I'm still not used to people feelin' they need to watch my back.

Does Sniper even mean that or does he say it out of convenience to get out a situation? I don't know anymore and I doubt he cares what I think. All he wants is to do what he wants without any regard how it might affect those who care about him in this world.

[Looking into his eyes, she spoke with absolutely no shame behind her.]

[Miss Pauling's words came back to him.] It's my job to support you. I've not been doin' very well at that lately.

[Leaning her head underneath his chin, Pyro released her hands from the neck of his hoodie and embraced him gently. Patting his back, she shook her head.]

Daijoubou. Just... I don't want to get angry at you anymore. I don't like being angry at all. It would be better for the both of us if I could just continue smiling.

[There were going to be some things he never understood: her occasional breaks into Japanese, for one; for another, whatever it was that compelled her to hug him. He stiffened as her arms wrapped around him, her hands on his back, her hair pressing against his chin as he felt her breath against him. Unsure of how to respond, he brought one of his own hands to her back, returning her pats with a couple of his own.]

Right. You'll be more like yourself, and I won't have to worry about gettin' more strikes against me.

[Food makes everyone feel better. It might be best if Sniper got some protein into that body that had been wading away in the hospital.]

[Speaking of her being herself, he was wondering how long it'd be until she brought up food again. He scratched his face.]

[Getting off the bed and saving him from anymore awkward at the moment, she twirled around in a circle before reaching the door with a smile.]

OK! I'll make you tons of good things! Now just take a nap and I'll bring everything to you when it's ready!

[He was admittedly glad to be saved from the awkwardness of her closeness and embrace, he did raise an eyebrow to her suggestion.]

I can't sleep all the time, you know.
